Introduction:

Carrie Glenn, born in 1980, grew up traveling across the U.S. with her family; often changing locations yearly. She has lived all over the U.S. from the East coast, (Virginia) to the West coast (California) and everywhere in between having moved well over 20 times and counting. After many years of continued traveling across the U.S. and even some international she has returned to her native state, Oregon. Carrie is currently producing art in her home based studio in the Portland area with her husband and family. It was clear at a very young age that Carrie was born gifted with an artistic talent, as she has had no formal training. As a child, she spent hours upon hours developing her gift of painting and portrait skills. Carrie has a rare ability not only to create amazing life-like details in her work but also to capture the true emotion and depth found in her artwork. Carrie's unique creative skills led her to develop a realistic technique, often using mixed media, which has become her trademark. Her portraits are often mistaken for photographs.

Carrie maintains a partnership with the March of Dimes, Portland, Oregon Chapter. She donates artwork annually to bring in top dollars for their “Signature Chef Auction” . Her artwork has also been shown and donated with the March of Dimes, Seattle, Washington Chapter’s, “Celebrity Chef Auction” to help raise awareness for March of Dimes and thier charitable efforts. Her work has been juried into numerous art shows throughout the NW such as the “Ocean Shores Fine Art show” and the “Lake Oswego Festival of Arts”. She was juried into the “Artists of the NW” coffee table book, which will be published in 2008. She has won many awards for her outstanding artwork, including the “Honorable Mention Award” from renowned Professor and artist, Robert Feasly. She has also been commissioned for corporate artwork and public installations for entities such as “London Fog”, “Horizon Air” and “Thomasville Furniture”. Her work can be found in such reproductions as canvas prints, signed prints, posters, calendars, cards and collectable coffee mugs. Carrie' s commissioned artwork can be found throughout the U.S. and internationally. Some of her new artistic ventures include working on illustrating and co-authoring several children’s books and introducing her artwork into the film industry.

Artists Statement:

"I enjoy creating bold artwork that moves people. Most of the artwork I create I have seen in a dream, or it is something that enthralls me from life or nature. I really pour my energy, my feelings and a bit of myself into every piece I create. I hope to leave a fingerprint of myself in my work and maybe on a person or two. Because of this I believe my artwork holds a type of life and that this creates a special, personal experience between my artwork and my viewers. I like to keep my relationship between my artwork and myself simple and heartfelt. I create what I love, color, boldness and captivating scenes that I hope captivate others as well."
