Self Portrait

I'm 5th year vet student with no oficial art formation whatsoever. I've drawn since my mum first gave me a pencil and it's been my favorit hobbie ever since, though I only started trying to actualy study a bit on the subject some 3 years ago.

I supose I started drawing landscapes, mainly Fire Lake, a gorgeous water filled volcano crater we have on our island where I go fishing trout since I was 6. Then I moved to animals I think and that took it's high point when "The Lion King" got out and I had references to draw a wide variety of animals. Then I wanted to draw humans but the face was a problem so I ended up drawing what I now know is called "furries". Around 5 years ago someone said my style reminded him of Anime, I didn't know what that was but soon found it to be a great reference for drawing humans. A year passed and I came to study on the mainland where I got a lot of influence from the tons of Rurouni Kenshin and Angel Sanctuary Manga I bought. About 2 years ago I found out I wasn't evolving anymore so I decided to start studying anatomy, both human and animal (vet school helps on that ^^U ) and in searching references found tons of new inspirations, specially that of Michael Angelo and Boris, Along with a lot of influence from fantasy and SF books and videogames I ended up with my recent style. This last few months I decided I'd reached my best in shading so I turned to color for I'm quite crapy at it and never payed it much heed. I tried my best in 3 of my latest works, "Only a Child" being my personal highlight. Now I'll continue trying to improve but my goal has widened to scenarios and freak prespectives.

In the past year I've receieved several work proposals, and though I lack the time and wish to keep painting for the pleasure of it, I found that I very much enjoy doing fantasy/Sci Fi illustration.

Most of the work I have is based on 3 projects I have: The fisrt, and a prelude to my novel is "Sagah" a mainly SF short story I'm re-writing. The second is the novel itself, a major project I've been workin for 4 years called "Unknown Depths" (most of my artwork is from this one)it's SF-Fantasy The third is simply called Delta for now, and is a sequel to Unknown Depths.
