Today was the first day of the St. Clair Street festival Artwalk. I have the best booth as far as display goes. Unfortunately I am about 562 miles away from everyone else....so its like I am having my own mini street festival. Its quite strange. Even so, the location is great. My exhibit is located in the Ontario School of Ballet building. The traffic flow is great there and their has been a lot of inquiries about my works....but it feels I am not connected with the event at all. This has crystalized my view that I won't do festivals again and should focus on being represented by a gallery. I did have lots of fun today though. I met some great people and one amazing lead that I won't talk about until something concrete happens.

Recently enrolled in a Visual Art Certificate program at a community college. The first course I am taking is one called Acrylic Techniques. I really enjoy it and have learned many techniques that I will and have added to my repertoire.

I'm back. After a long 23 months and a few heart procedures I finally got back to painting again. On Sunday April 12th I started a 50" x 60" acrylic painting called "Knowing Hands". It is a close-up of an older (80's at least) fisherman rigging his hook. This was a zoomed up image of a photo my wife Judi took when we were in PEI a few summers ago. She spotted two very old gentlemen fishing together on a secluded riverbank. She took many pictures of these cute fellows fishing. Once the pictures were downloaded I was able to zoom in and around and made a bee-line to his hands. I started the painting at 10am and finished it at 11pm with a two hour break (to visit another 80 year old friend in a nursing home). Hopefully I am on a role again.

Nuit Blanche was a huge success for the city. My booth was pretty busy....even at 4am. I hope to have a space again next year.
