I consider myself an emmerging artist. I have shown my work publically five times, soon to be six. The first two shows were held at outdoor urban art events. (Queen St. Art Crawl 2004, 2005.)They were very sucessful on many levels, however the energy required to present and sell ones work is greater than the financial payout. The biggest drawback preventing me from participating in further outdoor events other than the torture of all the required lugging, is the possibility of being canceled by rain. Just too much effort goes into this to be beholden to weather. The third show (April 2006) was a one man show. Having 50 works up under spotlights in one place at one time has been, and still is, the highlight of my artistic journey to date. The forth and fifth shows were group shows held at the Arta Gallery in the Distillery District. (April 2007 & June 2007). I had not started or completed a work of art since Aug 2006. Entering the June 2007 Show forced me to create a complimentary piece to "David's Breakfast", called "Coffee's Ready". My next public event will be the Nuitblanche Toronto 2007. This juried event is an all night downtown art festival involving many areas of the city. My reverse perspective works will be displayed at George Brown College 200 King ST West beginning September 29th. Most of my extra curricular time this year has been spent taking the Adult Education Teaching certificate. I am contemplating and formulating a number of exciting artistic endeavors to persue in the immediate future. One includes a combination of visual art, music and animation. Stay tuned!
