Self Portrait

Jacy was born on July 18, 1984 in Hartford, Connecticut. Growing up in an Hispanic-American household, Jacy tapped into her creativity at an early age, being influenced artistically by several members of her family. Continually, the many talents of her family surrounded her. Becoming a sponge, Jacy naturally followed their footsteps. According to Jacy, the biggest influence as a child was her father, Frank. He played the bass guitar in a local salsa band, and Jacy watched him express himself through his music. She eventually grew a fondness for self-expression, and like her father, started to also enjoy the freedom of the arts.

In 1992, at the age of eight, Jacy and her family moved to the suburbs of Windsor, Connecticut. It was that year that Jacy realized her true passion was for the fine arts. She credits her grade school art teacher, Ms. Giardi, for seeing her potential, and encouraging her to continue practicing her craft. Throughout middle school, Jacy bloomed and began to realize that she could create many different styles using different mediums.

Jacy graduated high school in the year 2002. She went on being artistically recognized by fellow students, teachers, family and friends. She studied Fashion Design in Boston at Bay State College, finished an Interior Decorating Certification Program through PCDI, and worked for an Interior Design firm for a period of time. She has taken, and completed many courses throughout her education, including Journalism, Psychology, Ceramics, Art History, AP Art & Portfolio Preparation, and Fashion Merchandising. Throughout the years, Jacy has completed many commissioned works and custom art projects, as well as launching and sustaining a very versatile portfolio.

Jacy now resides in Enfield, Connecticut with her husband Jonathan and Siberian Husky Jackie. She is a member of the Apostolic Church of Enfield.
