“Color is my delight. Clusters of swirling colors applied with nerve, gusto and finesse mingle together in my search for the ultimate expression of spirit. My paintings are a celebration of life. I avoid placing paint in any preconceived pattern, trusting my gut instincts to control the outcome. It is as if the brush, if left alone, would create the necessary actions. As an inventor of techniques, I choose to search for spontaneous color interactions that reflect the soul. Through the realm of abstract expressionism, I move between the conscious and subconscious, both of which can be spiritual states for creating. I start by mixing my colors which begins the process of “going” to that spiritual place where I paint. I am seduced by the colored liquids. A sense of urgent calm pervades my soul, anticipating the action that takes over automatically as I let it control the tool that is me.”
