Maya II: Heaven Will Not Wait
Nearly a century after the death of the great prophet, Set, on the memorial day of his passing, Detective Philip Delacroix is called to investigate a young girl's homicide at a popular inner city rock club.
With many questions regarding the crime looming, and a growing frustration over the concern for his mysteriously ailing wife, Grace; Delacroix seeks the guidance of the city’s popular spiritual advisor: the enigmatic, Darius Set.
Hard edged, and not particularly known to be a man of faith, the detective wrestles with the strange and sophisticated ideologies of the the vicar, but when he is given a mysterious box by the priest, and earnestly asked to deliver it to an exclusive location on the outskirts of the city, the elusive answers the sleuth had struggled so hard to embrace, slowly begin to surface in puzzling fashion.
In Corpustown, a condemned settlement of the last era, Delacroix meets Aida, a bed ridden psychic of immeasurable power, and It is only when she is exposed to the contents of the mysterious box that Delacroix becomes witness to an incredible vision, one so disturbing; he begins to question all that he had known.
But, it is upon his reacquaintance with an old flame, that his past finally begins to shape the awful truth, and when she proves to be an unbreakable link to the killer, it is then that they both realize that the city's fate is drawn to the region’s inconceivable past, and that their great, “City of the Light”, has been a grave of secrets, shadows, and an unimagineable evil.
Yet, in the end, all that is in darkness shall be brought to light.
