Karla Pearce studied at the Alberta College of Art and Design and the University of Calgary.

Karla Pearce is a painter, teacher, author, publisher and producer.

Karla Pearce currently has had her work shown by many public galleries throughout Western Canada, some of these are; The Grand Forks Art Gallery, Centre 64 - Kimberly, The Edmonton Art Gallery, Alternator Gallery - Kelowna, Truck artist Run Centre - Calgary, the Nelson Museum and the Castlegar Museum.

In 2008 Pearce opened up her own art gallery in Castlegar called the Creative Edge Gallery where she showed her own work as well as the work of many local artists. There she taught art classes in conjunction with Selkirk College and the Kootenay Boundry Reginal District.

Pearce has also done a great deal of volunteer work over the years with children and has completed many public murals. Her mural accomplishments are, Blueberry School Castlegar, Winlaw Elementary School, Trail's Memorial arena, Rosemont Elementary in Nelson, Nelson Civic Centre and Central School. All projects Pearce completed the work with local children.

Karla Pearce has published two books “Anise and the Magic Fish” which she wrote and illustrated, and Art of the Kootenays. a hard cover coffee table book. She started writing an arts column in 2004, The Creative Edge, which was published in The Nelson Daily News, the Trail Daily Times, Kootenay Carnival Magazine,The Castlegar News, Some Kootenay Arts Talk and is currently published in Kamloops This Week .

Karla Pearce produced a radio arts feature for BKRadio, for four years as well as a TV feature The Creative Edge on Shaw TV. Pearce also publishes a magazine called SKAT (Some Kootenay Arts Talk) that was published in the West Kootenays 2003-2011. The Publication has been re-named Some Kamloops Arts Talk and is now published in Kamloops.

Karla Pearce currently owns and operates out of her gallery, Karla Pearce Art Gallery located in Kamloops BC, where she paints and teaches art classes for all ages.
