My grandfather was a talented artist. As a child I used to lose myself in his large paintings of Scotland, fascinated with paddle-wheelers, fishermen, the beautiful Scottish hillsides, plus a scary picture of Gloucester Castle.
I've been painting most of my life and love to study the great masters, old and modern. Now as a much more experienced self taught artist I've moved towards abstract and surrealism. I love chess and have done a series on large canvas in dramatic black and white, minimalist style. Some of these works are in the largest private collections in Canada. My works are in collections in US, England, Japan, and Germany and across Canada. I am a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Artists In Canada. I am also listed in the World Artist Directory. My art has been auctioned and donated to the following charities: Cambridge House Int'l Gala Art Auction Canadian Cancer Society Auction: Westin Ballroom (donated fine art), 1999 Alberta Children's Hospital: (donated fine art) 2001 New York Fire Fighters Auction: November/2001, Cowboys Nightclub, Calgary Alberta (donated fine art) Muttart Art Gallery Art Auction (now the Calgary Art Gallery) to support the gallery, 1998 (donated fine art)
Selected exhibits and more information is available upon request.

Hopefully with the internet, many more will come to enjoy my work around the world. My newest adventure is taking me into the realm of abstract. I think it is truely my niche in art. I love doing it and I hope that you will enjoy it too.
I'm available for commissission work.
Thank you for your interest. Fitz
