Artist Bio

Michael Broyles has developed his photographic artistry over the past 35 years. His professional commitment to providing the highest quality fine art, portrait, and wedding photography is reflected in membership in:

" Professional Photographers of America (PPA) " Smoky Mountain Professional Photographers (SMPP) " Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI)

Through his membership in these cornerstone professional photography organizations, Michael continues to stay current with the latest developments in wedding and portrait photography, as well as provide contributions to the photography community itself. Michaels artistic creativity is a result of his life experiences. With three academic degrees, various professional certifications in counseling, over 30 years of teaching adults, and 27 years of active duty as a Chaplain in our United States Army, he brings a strong personal insight to creating legacy works of art.

Michael provides more than pictures. Michael's artistic goal is to generate an image that brings out the qualities of the person (or persons) with such grace and clarity that onlookers even strangers feel as if they really know the person they are viewing. And, his success is such that he routinely achieves this "frozen moment in time" and is acknowledged by his both clients and peers for his superior work.

In addition to creating beautiful portraitures, Michael crafts, markets, and exhibits his work based on themes found in nature. You can find his fine art work in over 24 gift stores and published in photography books. The latest book to publish his work is the Tennessee edition of America 24/7 ~ due out in November 2004. Twelve of his images published in the Tennessee edition of America 24/7 represent how his creative projects capture the wonder and beauty of God's work in the world. In landscapes, flora and architecture he develops images which strike a chord within viewers, giving them pause for thought.

Further, his photographic presentation on ceramic and marble/granite tile work has attracted considerable local attention. Michael's images infused on to granite and ceramic tiles create works of art that becomes a family legacy ~ lasting thousands of years. Michaels participates in two art guilds and an artist coop:

" the Art Guild of Tellico Village in TN " the Pleasure Island Art Guild in Orange Beach, AL " The Art Market in Knoxville, TN

His award winning work is currently featured in a solo show hanging in the Loudon County Chamber of Commerce office. Additional work can be seen at the Loudon County Visitors Center in the month of September. Moreover, his works Henley Street Bridge has been juried into the Knoxville Museum of Art show entitled ArtScapes.

Artist Statement

Bringing digital art to life is truly a mystical process ~ even to those who might master photography and computers. I find creating fine art photography involves a synergy that amalgamates a craft for discovering what can be, a skill in visual composition, an ability to work within a structured environment, and realization when a work of art has arrived.

Digital fine art photography provides me a means to reveal to others my experiences in the awe of my God. In the wonder of a flowers beauty, the majesty of a mountain peak, the foundation of an architectural formation, or the miracle of a fathers love, Gods own wonderment is made known to his creation.

Artist Intention

Michael Broyles work seeks to capture the spirit and beauty that is unique to each person. He employs elements of setting, color, and precise detail to create beautiful imagery in an exciting new medium. His fine art portraits and wedding images appear on ceramic tile and as multimedia ~ mixing music and images. While others may see a smile or common facial expression, Michael transfigures them into a powerful legacy composition. Michael's work is that of an artist truly capable of capturing and presenting an exceptional work which catches the eye and incites the mind to ponder what can be.
