Art has always been at the central core of my life, and early encouragement was provided by an elementary school teacher who allowed me to doodle on my homework margins. When I was 13, I took a correspondence course in cartooning. I attended a technical school and earned a degree as a "commercial artist" (the lingo of the time). I worked as a graphic artist for several years and also taught film animation at the Des Moines Art Center for 14 years, working with many talented and gifted students. I have never officially shown any of my art, other than a faculty show at the art center, nor have I ever attempted to sell any of my art, so this endeavor is somewhat exciting to me, to say the least. My work is mostly colored pencil and ink, with occasional airbrush and watercolor applications. Please make of it what you will, and hopefully life enhancement will occur.
