I attended lots of art and drama classes in high school. Then I went on to attend the School of Visual Arts in New York where I studied animation, illustration and the graphic novel. I liked writing my own stories and illustrating them.
After school I worked for and with various VSA Arts (arts for people with disabilities) organizations including Colorado, New Mexico, New Jersey and Oregon. I helped start two VSA projects: VISIBILITY, a coalition of artists with disabilities and The Unlimited Potential (UP) Theater Company, a community theater for actors with disabilities. I directed an art gallery for several years.
I hold a Master's degree in Community Arts Management from the University of Illinois, a BFA from the School of Visual Arts, and a certificate in multimedia design. I also have a CTM (Competent Toastmaster) certificate.
I am a published writer, cartoonist, and even won an award for illustration. I like to create my own web sites. I have had numerous exhibitions and continue to do various types of art including visual journals, artist trading cards and craft projects.
I used to work in colored pencil but now I incorporate my drawings into computer generated art.
