After an injury 17 years ago which left Susi unable to work in her Nursing career any longer, her sister sent her a box of student grade art supplies to help her cope with issues of severe chronic pain and depression. That turned out to be a transformative moment and provided Susi not only with much needed pain relief but serendipitously, a new career as well. In 17 years, a short time for an artist's career, her work has won three international awards and one internet award ( at ImageKind); she's been featured three years running on PBS's annual televised Art Auction fundraiser; her work was selected for inclusion on the tv show "Extreme MakeOver:Home Edition" for their Warwick, RI project ( May '08); she has been the subject of many newspaper and cable tv shows, as well as several regional magazine articles in New England. Her work now hangs in six countires and a museum in Mexico. She lives by the ocean in Rhode Island and keeps her studio in her home.
