I was born in Cuba and came to the US when I was ten. My favorite subject is the seashore and its treasures. I like my paintings to have the feeling of open space and miles of beach and ocean view, while at the same time leaving to the observer's imagination to wonder what's around the bend. A fellow islander from Jamaica once told me she could feel the heat of the sun as she looked at "Anchorage." It doesn't get any better than that. My paintings don't have any profound message or hidden meanings. They are about lazy summer days and soft ocean breezes. I like to put "a little piece of paradise" in each painting.
