Artist Bio

As an artist Megan aims to explore innovative artwork and processes. Exploring and Embracing New Technology. Working with a strong emphasis on dynamic approaches to landscape, portraits and abstracts. Megan reflects life, in ways you mightn't expect. " I have a strong commitment to images which celebrate diversity of culture and strength in beauty, serenity, freedom of sexuality and the power of women, challenging the stereotypes which exist in mainstream society. I would like the audience to look closely at all my pieces, as they all have many layers and content you don't always see on first viewing"

My initial collaged work sometimes developed from ripping up existing work. That's a scary thing, but it's a great way to work. I like working that way it's a risk, but out of that came a new way for me to work. I liked and was interested in the automatic drawing art process. It was the best way for me to work laterally. It changed my perspective every time. This sort of reflected everything around me at the time. Nothing truly stable, shifting changing recognition of issues and a swirl of information."

"I then because I didn't have a lot of resources, I started to cut up magazines I found or had, anything around me. I would select all the artificial colours and forms to use. Not say for instance traditional idea of collage cutting out a whole figure. It was segments of which at the time thought where artificial. I used this colour to created my collaged illustrations, which developed into many forms."
