I have been doing art for about 15 years. I'm mainly self taught. My only schooling was two years in high school and i am currently taking an at home course, which i have learned a lot from. I started out just doing basic art, Drawing, painting, etc. Then i took on pyography. I was very nervous at first, there isn't too much room for altering your work. But it turned out to be easier than I thought. I started off on one of those craft burners. Then I took a one day course with Linda Sales and found my love for the heat regulated nibsburner.

From there I met a man by the name of Jayson from MadCow custom leather. He introduced me to leather tooling and leather craft. I fell in love with it. There is so much you can do with leather and face it, it never goes out of style.

I recently took on a challenge of doing a burning on a deer pelt, that Jayson had asked me to do. This is something that he and I are working on together. I removed the hair from the center of the hide and burned in a picture. It turned out great. Although I have to say the process of burning it doesn't smell to pleasant.

I recently decided to make a career out of all my creations. I love doing any kind of custom orders, I can do most anything from portraits, to animals, to landscape and seascape. My mediums are graphite and colored pencils, acrylic, burnings, tooling, but i am up for the challenge of trying new things. My leather, i can make a variety of things such as photo books, belts, wristbands, bags, wall hangings, koozies to name a few. There is still so much with the leather that i want to try.

I find custom orders to be more interesting then doing my own thing. I love the challenge of creating something from the minds of other and doing my best at getting it as they picture it.

I see myself as a creator. I love to bring beauty and variety to other's lives. To remind them of the pleasure in the simple things in life. I also see me as a visual sociologist, I use my art to help open doors to others to expand their opinions and outlooks and to open the lines of communication between a friend or a stranger.

I have currently taken up airbrushing. I took a couple of courses with Mark Hatfield (Wicked Air) at Macomb Community college. I have been doing airbrushing since January of 2009. It is definitly a different experience but i seem to be picking it pretty well. Just takes a lot of practice. I am looking into painting on metal. Airbrushing a cars bikes and such. There is so much you can do with airbrushing and i am excited to learn them all.
