Thank you to everyone for their wonderful comments and encouragement! Please visit acklfeeart.com to view my much larger portfolio while this one is under construction. Thanks again and I hope you enjoy my other works as well! - Amy

*Just a little info on what you'll see in my portfolio here.... It takes me quite a while to finish a picture because I'm such a nit-picker when it comes to details. Most of the pieces I've submitted are originally 11"x14", all colored pencil on white paper. I've been forcing myself to "finish" pieces that completely fill the finished size with color/detail. I've always been good at sketching/drawing but usually left white or lightly drawn backgrounds...so what you're seeing are my attempts to push myself a little more.

UPDATES: 2008 has been a good year for me artistically. Since having made a concerted effort to finally, seriously concentrate on my artwork this past year, I am proud to say that I have been rewarded with a number of invitations to show my work around the country:

- "Daylight's Last Dance" was accepted into the 16th Annual Colored Pencil Society of America's International Exhibition in Seattle, WA from July to September.

- Two pieces, "Luminosity" and "Fabric of Harmony" have both been chosen for the Colored Pencil Society of America's bi-annual, 8 - state regional "Midwest Color 2008" Exhibition in Dearborn, MI. during September.

- Two pieces, "Goobie - A Boy and His Toy" and "Lizzie - Can't Resist The Cuteness" have both been accepted for the 11th Annual C.P.S.A. Chicago District 103 "The Magic of Colored Pencil" Exhibition in October. *"Goobie" won "Judge's Choice" and "People's Choice" awards!

- "Goobie" and "Fabric of Harmony were entered in a local Art League Show where "Goobie" won a 1st Place Blue Ribbon...he's a very popular boy!

Needless to say, I'm pretty excited about being accepted...especially considering the caliber of the artists involved and the fact that I've only been at this a very short time. Looks like I set the bar a little high for myself.

Once again though...I want to thank all of you here on ArtWanted for all of your encouragement and support. In the end, all of the other "stuff" doesn't hold a candle to that!

This next year, along with the shows/exhibiting, I would like to focus on merchandising and possibly creating/illustrating my own children's books. It's a BIG goal, but I think I'm up to it! LOL If you can give me any advice in these areas, I'd love your input and if you're interested, I'll keep you updated....

Once again...thanks everybody for checking out my stuff! I really appreciate it!!! :) - Amy T.
