Tanya Pshenychny was born in Kiev, Ukraine on March 12, 1985. Like every child, she loved to draw and doodle on everything. One day, her parents looked at one of her creations and thought that even though this doodle's limbs and torso were shaped like pickles, they were pretty close to actual proportions of a human body. They decided to enroll her in a children's arts and crafts class outside of the school as she was attending second grade. By age 9, the family had an oppertunity to come to the United States.
Throughout high school, Tanya took as many art classes as she could. She was greatly influenced by her art teachers, who each taught her different techniques that she uses today. Today she continues to study art and illustration through books and internet.
