Self Portrait

Thomas Valenti was President of Allied Artists of America from 2006-2017 (www.alliedartistsofamerica.org). The organization dates back to 1914 and has members throughout the United States and abroad. It is among the most prestigious art societies in the Nation. In an unprecedented move, the organization voted Valenti to this highest ranking position less than one year from the time he became an Elected Member. A testament to the artist's work and his ability to lead. Upon his resignation as president of AAA Valenti's was inducted as an Honorary Member and is listed on the Board of Directors as a presidential advisor. He is also a Fellow Member of the New Jersey Watercolor Society and he holds the high ranking Emeritus Member of the Salmagundi Club based in NYC. He is listed in "Who's Who in American Art" and "Who's Who in America". His work is featured in the January 2007 issue of The American Artist Magazine. M. Stephen Doherty, Editor-In-Chief invited the artist to appear in the nationally distributed publication. Doherty himself wrote the 8 page article which outlines Valenti's versatility working in both oil and watercolor and the methods he follows to balance the two. Valenti authored an article that appeared in the October 1986 issue of the Artists Magazine. The article outlined Valenti's method for watercolor painting called "The Tonal Technique for Watercolor." The work of Thomas Valenti is in countless private, corporate and public collections one of which is The Lipton Tea Company who commissioned the artist to paint a series of paintings of The America's Cup Races in Newport, Rhode Island. Former Heavyweight Champ Muhammad Ali owns work by the artist. Thomas gives demonstrations/lectures and conducts workshops to well attended art interest groups. A natural born speaker, Valenti presents his views in a clearly detailed and sometimes light-hearted manner.

Valenti works on commissions that he receives from people all over. Very typically, the artist would be asked to paint a scene from a photo that someone had taken of a favorite place. (Or someplace they might like to be!). An image of the scene is sent to the artist as an attachment in an e-mail. The next step would be to determine by e-mail AND/OR phone, the size, medium, and cost. Pricing varies from piece to piece but the average range is around $2500. - $20,000. (and higher). Again, this is an average not set in stone and the artist welcomes all inquiries.

At various stages of development, Thomas will send e-mails of the progress of the piece. You will experience the development of your painting as the artist creates it.
