In 1980, before the Texas Home computer was released, I registered with TI as a developer. From 1980-1983 I developed primarily game programs for the TI994a.

Cory Burr has written a very good simulator for the TI994a that runs on almost any PC. Others have converted many of the TI disks and Cartridges to PC files that the emulator can load.

I stumbled upon SubOceanic on tigameshelf.net which is managed by Walid Maalouli. He had converted a version of one of my programs into a format that could be run on the Bursoft Win994a simulator. I downloaded the simulator and the Suboceanic and found it ran very well.

It was quite a nostalgic trip. I had published this program as "Bang Bang Sub" thru my own company Data Force Corporation in 1983. This SubOceanic version was submitted to TI thru the developers program for publishing in a cartridge. TI never published it and by 1985 TI was in trouble with its Home Computer and losing a lot of money.

TI fans might remember I had 3 arcade games on the TI994a.

If you do download the simulator and SubOceanic, do to a quirk the download has an extension of .dsk which must be changed to .tidisk to run with the Win994a simulator.

Execute Simulator, Cart menu insert TI Extended Basic, Disk menu insert floppy SubOcean. Pressing any key should bring up simulated cartridge menu.

Use Caps on and S,W,E,R,F,C,X,D keys to control sub and enter to fire.

I contacted Walid Maalouli at togameshelf.net and have sent him my other games, which he says he will convert and post online.

Much of the TI software isn’t competitive today, and some wasn’t competitive in 1982. BUT I believe my games were competitive to major arcade games of that area, and while they are DATED they are still competitive to many of the Java games being published today.

I had been wondering ho long to hold on to this old stuff and the old hardware to run it, now it is available in simulation guess I can clean out my closet. ---------------------------------- If you do try it and have any problems use my email here for questions. Because the comment system of rewards for comments is no longer active I have decided to turn on my comments for a while at leaste.

There are some 2010 color trends published already, I will be researching these shortly and doing some presentations. These are about 20 months out, the industry probably has always forcasted trends as early as this, but it hasnt been widely available outside of the industry this early. Apparently the internet is having an effect and the ease of publishing has caused a more widely distributed forcast. There are color trend subscription ($) reports available to the industry as well and I would suppose those making a living at it purchase these reports.

Because there are a few large DYE firms who create dyes for the textile industry these trends tend to prevail, if the dye industry offers a line of new colors for fabric, or printing they probably are widely used. The fashion industry needs palletes for their computers and other such tools to start creating textile designs, so they need to understand very early in the game where they are going with their designs.

While there are some simularities to Oriental, South Asian seems to have more muted colors traditionally, and a more complex design and astraction, Oriental seems to have a more direct presentation of simple forms and shapes, closely representing reality and presenting more of a storyboard presentation. These presentations of mine are attempts to isolate these differences and get some "recognition" from the viewer that these designs do match their observations and illicit the same reactions.

These designs attempt to bring both the senses of color and shapes from those cultures.

It is interesting to combine different shapes with colors and create a design, but it is a real challenge to try to actually capture the real essence of a regional cultures in shape color and composition. I will admit I have only limited success.

My success will depend on the viewers experiences being similar to mine.

What a beauty some of these are, my siblings moved to Tulsa Oklahoma and one of my sisters dabbled in Indian Jewelry which consisted of a lot of silver, bronze and TURQUOISE.

Some of the Squash Flower Necklaces have POUNDS of turquoise and silver and are literally magnificent works of art.

You can find some on EBAY but the best are collected and hard to find.

I have a number of turquoise pieces from Tulsa Oklahoma with litterlly 1 inch chucks of Turquoise, these have always been some of my favorites.

As has become my tendency I usually publish each day a single design in 3 renditions/repetitions.

I find that if you want to get the TEXTILE feel you really need an 8x8 rendition, but often fewere repetitions appear more artistic.

I will probably publish 50-100 Aztec designs I tend to try to saturate a topic when I approach it. This becomes a learning process for me.
