Sidne Teske has been making art professionally for over 20 years. Primarily working with soft pastels, Teske works en plein aire, depicting landscape in a manner that has been compared favorably with work of Georgia O'Keefe and the Impressionists. She also creates large expressive figural works that delve into dark areas of the human psyche.

A long-time Signature Member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast, Teske has earned many awards including a Grumbacher Silver Medal, a Herman Margulies Scholarship, and many Patron Purchase awards. She has been a member of the Wild Women of Reno since 1996. Her painting "Humboldt River Elko County" is the cover of Shaun Griffin's poetry anthology Desert Wood (Black Rock Press, UNR). Her petroglyph poster, commissioned by the Nevada State Office of the Bureau of Land Management and the Nevada Rock Art Foundation, won the national competition of the Society of American Archaeologists in 2003. Six of her landscapes, commissioned by Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn, were the awards presented at the annual Nevada Governor's Arts Awards ceremony in March 2004. In 2005 she was invited by the Smithsonian Institution to participate in their Festival on the Mall, and is included in the resulting traveling show "Inspirations from the Forest".

Teske maintains a full schedule of shows and has been active in the Nevada Arts Council's Artist in Residence program for 15 years.

Teske's works are included in many private and corporate collections worldwide including Embassy Suites Hotel at South Shore Lake Tahoe, the Omni Hotel at Interlochen, Colorado, Washoe Medical Center in Reno, Nevada and the Nevada Arts-Council offices in Carson City, Nevada.
