Self Portrait

The surreal and vibrant energy of Erin Hogan's original artwork is mostly attributed to her love of nature, fantasy, fairy tales and the uninhibited innocence of the childhood imagination.

Growing-up primarily in the rural foothills of the Sierra Nevada, Erin spent most of her time alone exploring the nearby woods, planting fairy gardens, reading endless volumes of Fairy Tales and painting with her cats in her attic art studio. From early childhood, she spent most of her time drawing dreamscapes, mermaids, fairies and small creatures...with an endless fascination of the supernatural and creatures from other realms.

While dreams create a majority of her whimsical inspirations, the faces of children, babies and 'spirited' individuals fill her sketchbooks with glimpses into her world of lush foliage, elements of other worlds, flowers and unusual beauty. Erin currently lives happily-ever-after on the West Coast with her husband and two children. She is working on the illustrations for a spiritual children's storybook, and completing her first children's fairy calendar.
