Everything is for sale......

I was born in Pensacola Florida, USA and have studied art all through school and college while early on paying, for my education as a musician. I've traveled the world experiencing different places and cultures learning and absorbing and expanding my world view.

My childhood was wonderful, growing up in a provincial little city like Pensacola. I had the beach for surfing and assorted playing; the bayou for fishing and skiing; and the Jr. High and High School band to play in. My first drawing lesson I can remember was when I was around four years old. Some Sears type sales guy came to my parents house and showed me how to shade and use the pencil different ways, while trying to sell them an art kit. They didn't buy the art kit, but I did keep drawing.

In the 5th grade I won the Pan-American Art Contest, and started a short time later taking drawing lessons on Saturdays from a local seasonal artist by the name of Maxine Carter.

My High School years were uneventful, with the possible exception of managing to schedule two band periods and one art class a day, and the fact that I graduated.

College was a different matter. I was challenged both academically and creatively and succeeded beyond my expectations. After college I left for Europe where I based my travels out of a small town in the south east of England by the name of Maidstone, Kent, and wandered around Western Europe and the UK. That set the pattern for my adult life. I decided to live my life as an adventure, and have not slowed down since.

We have moved from our beautiful home on a lake in the foot hills of the North Carolina Mountains, where I played my pipes, painted my pictures, surfed the coast of NC, snowboarded with my daughter ( who is now married), and played on my jet ski with my six year old daughter( who is now 16...lord help me). We currently live in Ft. Worth, Texas.... wow what a change. But an exciting change: I am a member of the Adobe Western Art Gallery... and have been so much more successful... with commissions and large painting sales.

My art degree is from the University of West Florida, graduating in the first full time class, and one of the two founding members of Acme Aesthetics. My graduate work has been at the University of North Texas. I've had one man shows in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Texas and in institutions like Georgia Tech and the Fort Worth Community Art Center, while also participating in juried exhibitions.

My current work is ...well I have called it___________ ( fill in the blank ). I've been painting commissions and in the western genre while teaching two oil painting classes a week.

I am still a realist.... painting the world as I see it....

Oh...if you have read this far... a reminder everything is for sale... always....
