It's been a busy winter in Arizona. Shows: The very successful Artists Studio Tour in November 2008 and an Artists of the Superstitions Members Show after Thanksgiving. The Canyon Arts Festival in January, 2009. An art show at the Superstition Mountain Museum in February and our Members Spring Art Show in April.

Also, I exhibited my works at a local coffee shop in Gold Canyon for the month of April. In May I was exhibiting "on the wall" at the Superstition Mountain Museum.

Look for my exhibits and shows the rest of this year: September exhibit at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, November Art Tour on the 7th & 8th, Artists of the Superstitions Members Show December 6, 2009. Canyon Arts Festival again in January 2010, the Museum in February and another members show in March.

In addition, I have been busy with giving workshops at the local Community College. More to come in the fall and spring. I was also involved with the planning and implementation of the Studio Tour, the Members Show and the Canyon Arts Festival.

This year I again will be coordinator of the Canyon Arts Festival and help with Artists of the Supersitions Studio Tour and Member shows.

I also remain as treasurer and web site coordinator for our local art group: Artists of the Superstitions. Keep up on what we're doing: www.ArtistsoftheSuperstitions.com.

Please feel free to contact me at any time about my portfolio or any of the shows I will be attending.

This is a great time of year in Arizona! Many art shows are planned for the next several months. I'll be at the Artists of the Superstitions Studio Tour, which occurs on November 1 & 2. Next, we are planning our members' show on November 30 from 10 am to 3 pm. This show will be under the big white tent at the Gold Canyon Golf Resort.

In January is the very popular Canyon Arts Festival. In 2006, I won the poster contest for this show and will proudly display my paintings again.

Then in April, we are planning another members' show.

In addition, I will be hosting 4 workshops at the local Community College (Central Arizona College). These are basic color, technique and getting to know your medium type of workshops.

Well, back from our (almost) 3 week road trip. It was such fun to see the grandkids and the beautiful United States. Travelled from Arizona to North Carolina. Stayed at the Biltmore Estates and toured that beautiful home and grounds. Then three days with the grandsons. Of course, they wore us out! On to Lake Michigan to be with friends for several days. Visited air museums along the way...my husband's passion. Had a great visit - then back home. Stopped to see the Arabia exhibit in Kansas City -check it out on google.

We are tired of hotel rooms -some good, some not so good, but still expensive. After over 5,000 miles I guess you can understand.

Back to business and painting and getting ready for shows. Next one is at the Day of the Cowboy on July 25...see you there!

The heat of summer in Arizona is here. Off for a few weeks to experience some other weather. Taking along my camera and sketchbook so I can create some great images when I get back.

Looks like I'll be teaching again at the College beginning in October. This time I'll be doing all day workshops. Should be lots of fun!

We had a great success at our 1st Members Show for Artists of the Superstitions, held on April 27, 2008. What a great turnout! Thanks to all of you who stopped by and took my brochure. We are all so enthused about this success, we'll be planning a Fall show as well. That will be in late November or early December. Some great things are happening in our little art group!

One Week until our Show at the Gold Canyon Golf Resort. I am busy getting ready with framing and matting my new pictures.

My Intermediate class will be ending next Saturday. A great group that I'm going to miss. So many of our residents are "winter residents" and now is the time most of them leave to go back to homes in the midwest and Canada.

Will be traveling back to Sedona in May. Hope to get some great pictures to turn into inspired paintings.

Welcome back to my portfolio. I have been busy with my teaching duties at the local Community College. My beginners' class is ending on March 29, 2008, and we will be off to the Arboretum for some plein aire painting. Last year I started my watercolor called "Agave in the Garden" with my beginners class. It is now framed and ready to show.

I am also busy with our art group "Artists of the Superstitions" which was formed just a year ago and already has 40 members. We are a very active group. Look for our members' show on April 27, 2008, at the Gold Canyon Golf Resort on Kings Ranch Road. Then on November 1st and 2nd we will again present our Artists' Studio Tour. I am involved in the planning for both of those events.

It's been a very busy year so far. A show in January and again in February, plus I had two paintings juried into the Gilbert Art League Show, which just ended. Also, having a lot of fun with my beginning and intermediate classes. All are so eager to learn and succeed in watercolor painting - and that makes for an enjoyable day.

I belong to Artists of the Supersitions, an art group here in Gold Canyon and Apache Junction. We are barely a year old, and have already hosted a Studio Tour, and are planning a members' show on April 27. This is a very active and involved group and it's a pleasure to be a part of such enthusiasm.

Well, just had our big day (January 26, 2008) at the Canyon Arts Festival, presented by the Gold Canyon Arts Council. It was a BEAUTIFUL day, thankfully. There was threat of rain all week, but it held off until the evening. The turnout was wonderful, and it was nice to reconnect with former students, friends and art buddies. If you came by my booth, thanks for the lovely comments. They are much appreciated. Please explore my portfolio to see the many more pictures I can't bring with me to the shows. E-mail me with any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you!

I've had three successful shows this fall. I participated in the first "Art Walk" by the Gold Canyon Artists', which was very successful. I was juried into the Arts and Crafts Fair at Apache Junction that was held on November 17 & 18. An I participated in a local Arts and Crafts show on December 1.

In January, I have been juried into the Canyon Arts Festival on January 26, 2008, held in Gold Canyon, AZ. I am also in the Soroptomist Art Fair held in conjunction with Lost Dutchman Days held in Apache Junction.

I will be teaching Beginning Watercolor starting on January 12, 2008, at the local College.
