Fortunato was born at Oporto in 1946 Nov 15th, graduating in Mechanical Engineering at IST, at Lisbon. He is a self taught and has long painted with oil pastel. He initiated painting with oil in 1997. He is an Associate Member of the ISMP- International Society of Marine Painters.
