I was born on the 10th November 1957 in La Bisbal d'Empordà (Girona) Spain. I lived there until I was 22 yold. I left on the 3rd March 1980 to Belgium, where few days later I got married and I have been living there since then.
As far as I remember I liked already making drawings and paintings when I was a child. When I was in the secondary school I learned perspective and a bit of technical drawing, how to work with scales, mainly to reduce proportions.
The most normal way is that children go or could go to their parent' school. I did the contrary. My daughter (13 yold) who is very good in drawing, mainly dress design creation, started when she was younger attending courses to an artistic Academy. I was little by little attracted by that environment and now that she stopped attending courses, I have taken the relay over. In fact I'm interested in watercolour, pastels and oil painting.
In 2004 I participated at a pastel training course and that was practically the awakening of my "artistic" feelings. Since then I have worked mainly in watercolour and a few works in pastel and pencil.
In 2005 I took the plunge. I heard that there were watercolour courses in Hoves, next Enghien, not far from home and I decided to attend them. They are given by Jasco an artist quite known in the area
After some courses, observing how the other were doing and trying to do myself, I quickly could approach the drawing and painting techniques from other point of view. Of course, I am well aware that I am at the very beginning of knowledge and techniques, because there are plenty of different ways to approach or the variety of themes : the fields, the trees, the sky, the sea, the sand, Etc. moreover the light changes during the day and even depending on the seasons, the atmospheric conditions. My nearest and big fan are my children and my wife. They get angry when I show them all the imperfections. Without being negative, when I observe one of my works, even if it can be considered as correct I am conscious of all failures. I know I can do it better, but the way is still far away.
