Click for larger view I haven't blogged in quite some time...the Royal Oak show was fun and I plan to do that one again next year thanks to Christy Laroy another artist on artwanted. The Monroe Jazz festival is coming up on August 8-9th and the next weekend is the board art walk in Toledo over the Cherry St. bridge with music, art, and good food. If you can make it to support local art stop by...

Click for larger view Hello everyone! Hope your summer was as exciting as mine. School has started and so have the children's homework and sports. I usually do the Make-A-Wish event at the end of September at Lourdes college. You may buy tickets which include all the wine tasting you'd like and foods from all over then, of course, the arts...Tickets can be purchased through Kate with Vines&Vices at Lourdes college. This event is wonderful!

Well, I turned 30 on Monday and although it wasn't the birthday I had hoped I was inspired to paint a piece that I absolutely love. Tuesday I did "Swept Away" and finished it on Weds. It's now totally complete. Crazy how when you're finished and it has a part of your heart in it and then you feel like you've sold your soul when they go but, I don't feel prints do justice to the original piece. I just sold "Medusa" and "My Girl" and I feel like I lost two favorites so I just have to keep the imagination going. I recently wrote a book with my daughter..she caught a 14" catfish and we made a really great story out of it so she's going to do the illustrating. I've think we're going to try to publish it...we'll see...I don't know how many children's fish stories are out there already but, if anything it's teaching my lil' artiste' to be creative and to dream! Don't ever stop dreaming!

Kim, Kim, Kim....how do you descirbe the perfect person to look after your art and cherish it and love it and even tear up looking at it....well, that's her.....I do think many artists' believe that each piece they work on is like their lil' baby that they create and when your all done it's sad to see them go...I would think many want them to be purchased by people who truly get you and appreciate your passion and creativity...so I now believe that any person whom owns a piece of art and adores it like she does is a true "KIM" I think I will start a new line like "Oh, so a 'true KIM' bought that piece right there hugh?" no, in all seriousness thanks to you and your husband for the hospitality and kindness....and most importantly YOUR MOM whom, obviously knows you very well and had the foresight to see that Love Potion no. 9 was never going to be right unless it was given to you!!

So I just got the Detroit Homes magazine in the mail yesterday and in the 'Top Drawer' section is one of my cylinders...very cool! Not even what I have in my top drawer....some candles are in there though to keep my stuff smelling nice...I am excited about the advertising though...Thanks Ben and Alisha! To all the places that didn't get mentioned in the article, I appologize and please know that I gave them the list and more and they choose to put in what they want....Well, the kids are going to be outta school soon....fun! And just got home from the Sex and the City movie....def. a chick flick!!! Don't we all dream though...passion and romance seem to get lost in everyday life...hmmmm....that's why I love to paint!!!
