From the time I was a small child I loved colors and their interaction. My earliest memories are of playing with blue and orange crayons and loving how they looked together. In the course of my life path I fell away from any sense of creative freedom, working from what I thought was expected of me. It wasnt until I was 40 that I was able, emotionally and spiritually to access that child spirit through my adult educated mind.

I am captured by the brilliant use of color from the Italian High Renaissance. I love the freedom of the quick, thick use of paint of the Impressionists and most of all from the abstract expressionists, my work moves beyond all conscience recognition.

Whatever we think we see is not. Everything around us is moving and alive with atomic structure. I paint what I see, beyond sight. I move to its essential and spiritual nature. What visually results is the energy of that relationship it created in me. Like Kandinski, I feel the spiritual essence of an object. The place where point and line intersect create a spiritual nexus.

I seek to establish the intricate web between energy and the emotion of its rhythmic patterns. I distill the energy of the moment to its spiritual resonance. There is a tone within music, culture and emotion and I just feel these things. Each painting is the rhythm of this.

Our world has grown to be so small and we have no new frontiers left. There is no place new left to go, so now everything is about relationships. I am trying to show that there is great wonder in everything still, that the frontier is within us, not outside of us.

The more visual a culture we become, the more important it is that there be a visual voice that speaks to the inner experience. I am a voice answering, looking into and exploring these internal relationships.

I hope that my painting helps people go on an inward journey in their relationship to things around them.
