I live and play in the Portland Oregon metro area with my youngest daughter, her 8 year old son, and 3 terrorist cats. I paint and create textile art under the name DejaBlu here in the PNW.
I have dabbled in art since I was about 13, steadily expanding the ways I challenge myself, and I often find myself imagining and creating art that can only be classified as "outside the box".
I enjoy creating multimedia pieces, mosaics, stained glass, recycled art, painted furniture, garden art and paintings done in either acrylics or pastels. But my first love is textile art such as art quilts, embellished wall hangings and purses, batik, fabric transfers, wearable art, wild art dolls and 3 dimensional textile sculptures. I almost always work in brilliant colors, but I do sometimes dabble in earthy tones with an ethnic/tribal flare to the design.
Other than 2 college classes in design and color theory I have no formal art training, I am largely self educated in art.
