Speaking of the gallery in Seattle - I will be having a solo show called "Birds and Beasties" next October, 2015 -details are HERE.

"Evil Queen"

16"x20" Original Acrylics on Panel, $6400 SOLD at Disneyland's WonderGround Gallery

Available only through WonderGround Gallery at Disneyland (and soon to be also at Disney's Marketplace Co-Op here at Disney World in Florida), worldwide shipping.

Email merchandise.guest.services@disneyparks.com or call Merchandise Guest Services number at 877-560-6477 (option 2) or (714) 781-4565 – they open at 10:00am Pacific Time - they are happy to ship worldwide. Available as matted prints, limited edition framed signed canvases, mini framed canvases & postcards - ask the representative at the phone number above and they will let you know what is available! The original painting SOLD at the show.

Some enterprising Californians have already been buying & reselling my WonderGround prints & merchandise from Disneyland on eBay too - I have gathered them together in an online eBay collection of links here - all different sellers, prices, etc. but all together in one link here

This image will also be available soon in Florida at the Disney Marketplace Co-Op on the Marketplace side of Downtown Disney / Disney Springs here at the Walt Disney World Resort as well, so if you live in Florida you should have options to purchase in person soon too.  I will be there in person at the Co-Op the evenings of November 7 & 8 from 5pm-7pm.

One of the pieces I painted for Disney that debuted at the WonderGround Gallery in the Downtown Disney® District at the Disneyland® Resort in Anaheim, CA. Licensed & contracted by Disney, ©Disney, this is my original acrylic painting featuring Disney’s Evil Queen from the animated film “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is one of my favorite Disney classics. When I was a kid, I remember my grandmother telling me that she saw it in the theatres when she was a little girl, which totally blew my mind! The Evil Queen is such an archetypal character; she helped define my notion of a true "villain." She is beautiful, vindictive, fabulous, but incredibly powerful - juxtaposing petty jealousy with supernatural thrill. One of the most unforgettable scenes has to be her consultation of the mystical servant in the Magic Mirror (who I find creepy even to this day). I have painted my interpretation of the Evil Queen in my usual stylized characterization, an acrylic painting capturing the mood & mystery of her conversation with the Magic Mirror.

Prints, merchandise and limited edition canvases are available exclusively through Disney.  More details are here. *******

"Tightrope Girl"

12"x30" Original Acrylics on Panel, $7200 SOLD at Disneyland's WonderGround Gallery

Licensed & contracted by Disney, ©Disney, this is my original acrylic painting featuring Disney’s "Tightrope Girl". This piece is inspired by one of the most iconic scenes in one of my all-time favorite Disney attractions - The Haunted Mansion! The infamous room that houses the stretching portraits left a huge impression on me as a child - a true piece of Walt Disney Imagineering magic. The delightful creepiness of the character known as the "Tightrope Girl" speaks to me in particular, and as a Florida girl, I identify with the alligator-based narrative. In my interpretation I have painted her as a tall, narrow acrylic painting to keep the general aesthetic of the portrait in full "stretch." Keeping with the Southern Gothic feel of The Haunted Mansion in New Orleans Square at the Disneyland® Resort, I have expanded the atmospheric background into an immersive Louisiana swamp, and of course the character herself has been given my personal treatment with the larger head / big eyes painted in the pop surrealist/Jasmine Becket-Griffith style.

Prints, merchandise and limited edition canvases are available exclusively through Disney.  More details are here. *******

Updates from Jasmine!

Big update today!

Firstly a reminder - I will be at Disneyland's WonderGround Gallery TOMORROW in Anaheim, California - Downtown Disney - 11am until 1pm - FREE event (no tickets needed) - come on by - details HERE

Two new paintings - "Pastel Portrait 1" and "Octopus Pumpkin"

Another original painting - "Paisley" - is now available too!  The original collector did not come through, so I have put Paisley (framed, gorgeous) up in my eBay storeHERE

The Kansas City Renaissance Festival's LAST WEEKEND of the year is this weekend!  This Saturday, Sunday & Monday (Columbus Day) - if you buy $10 or more at our gallery, you can choose a FREE mini print.  I won't be there in person ('cos I'll be in Disneyland for my event there) but my sister Amber will be there, happy to help you out!

My "Autumn Tour" is in full swing!  I am all over the world this month, (Disneyland in California, Disney World in Florida,  Whitby in the UK, Glastonbury in the UK, back to Florida again, a Mail-in-Show in Seattle,....).  To see all of my upcoming events, visit my Events Page Here .  Even though I'll be traveling, I'll be doing quite a bit of painting along the way - to keep up on my current works in progress, keep an eye out at my Facebook HERE or Instagram (My user ID is Strangeling).

"Octopus Pumpkin"

8x10" Original Acrylics on Panel, $2200 AVAILABLE, prints & canvasesHERE

Octopus Pumpkin 8x10 Acrylic Painting on Panel - $2200 (framed she is about 10x13 -  silver oval frame) available at Eight And Sand Gallery's All Hallows show opening this Saturday in Seattle!

And of course prints are up at our Etsy store

*******

"Pastel Portrait 1"

5x7" Original PASTEL Painting on Masonite HERE

Something different from me...

Most of the time, I work in acrylic paints exclusively.  Sometimes though I like to do small portraits/study pieces as PASTEL paintings!  I figured collectors might be interested in these as well, so here is the first of my Pastel Portraits.  Bidding starts at just one penny HERE

These are Caran d'Ache pastels on a masonite panel treated with marble & pumice dust.

While this piece has been "fixed" with Degas Non-Toxic Spectrofix fixative, it is still suggested that all pastel paintings are kept behind GLASS/PLEXIGLASS.   Because of this, for display & for safety during  shipping I have included a simple metal & glass frame.  You can leave her framed like this and hang her on the wall or set her on a desk (it has a wall hanger & and an easel back on the backside).  Or since she's a 5x7" standard size board, you can always pick out your own frame later if you'd like to re-frame her yourself in the future, it is very easy, and the masonite boards are quite sturdy.   Please remember though to keep pastel paintings behind glass.  Again - bidding is HERE - if you guys like her, maybe I'll put more up soon!

Paisley ORIGINAL Painting

27x30" Framed - $4600 now AVAILABLE HERE

"Paisley" Original Framed Acrylic Painting is AVAILABLE HERE

The original collector did not come through with payment, so she is up in my eBay store - 30"x27" Framed (gorgeous frame)

Original out of your budget?  Prints & Canvases are up at Strangeling.com here

Let somebody's loss be your gain!

Paisley will be appearing as an illustration to a Kachina Mickeletto short story in my upcoming art book - such a pretty piece!

New Unseelie Court, Faces of Faery, Disney & Works-in-Progress from Jasmine

Updates from Jasmine!

Great stuff to show you & tell you about today!

Two new paintings - "Unseelie Court:  Death"  and "Faces of Faery 227"

My "Autumn Tour" is in full swing!  I am all over the world this month, (Disneyland in California, Disney World in Florida,  Whitby in the UK, Glastonbury in the UK, back to Florida again, a Mail-in-Show in Seattle,....).  To see all of my upcoming events, visit my Events Page Here .  Even though I'll be traveling, I'll be doing quite a bit of painting along the way - to keep up on my current works in progress, keep an eye out at my Facebook HERE or Instagram (My user ID is Strangeling).

I also have some new works-in-progress to tell you about, including a new Halloween painting & a pastel painting too!

"Unseelie Court:  Death"

16"x20" Original Acrylics on Panel, $5800 SOLD, prints & canvasesHERE

The third painting in my series called "The Unseelie Court" - specifically for the subset inspired by the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse - this is the piece I painted "live" as a demonstration at my gallery at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival. Each painting in my Unseelie Court series depicts important individuals or families within the Unseelie Court. Exploring the darker side of the Fairy Court, the Unseelie faeries take their theming from slightly unpleasant aspects of the magical and natural world. But of course despite being wicked they will have a beautiful and refinded elegance about them.... This particular painting in the series symbolizes "Death". I tried to use a variety of death imagery from many cultures and centuries past - pre-Columbian Central American carvings, Egyptian Book of the Dead, medieval/renaissance Europe and beyond (her scythe has a distinctly contemporary video game feel...). So many great references in this one, really speaks to the Art History nerd in me (especially Saturn Eating His Children in her skirts, and the Burial at Ornans funeral). The original piece sold, but prints, canvases & posters are available. Stay tuned for Famine later, before I begin on the Unseelie Court: Deadly Sins subset!

The original painting of "Unseelie Court:  Death" has sold, but we have prints (signed by me on the back) starting at $9.99 as well as Limited Edition Canvas Prints hand embellished & numbered by me for only $125 at Strangeling.com HERE

Or if you prefer eBay, the $9.99 8x10 signed glossy prints are HERE and the $19.99 12x16 signed glossy prints are HERE

and 11x14 Lt. Ed. Canvases are HERE

And of course prints are up at our Etsy store

******* We also have a set of ALL THREE Unseelie Court pieces in the series so far - only $30 for the set of 8x10s, $60 for the set of 12x16s, all signed on the back by meHERE

"Faces of Faery 227"

6"x6" Original Acrylic Painting SOLD, prints & canvases are HERE

The two-hundred-and-twenty-seventh installment (geez!) in my ever-popular-seemingly-immortal Faces of Faery series, here is Faces of Faery #227!   The original acrylic painting was sold, but we have prints (signed by me on the back) starting at $9.99 as well as Limited Edition Canvas Prints hand embellished & numbered by me for only $75 HERE

Or if you prefer eBay, the $9.99 6x6 signed glossy prints are HERE

and 6x6 Hand Embellished Lt. Ed. Canvases are HERE

And of course prints are up at our Etsy store

******  There are over 200 paintings in my Faces of Faery series - Click HERE to see them all!

Works-in-Progress

I've got some works-in-progress!

Work-in-progress! An updated shot of the little Halloween piece I had started at the KC Renfest last weekend. She's destined to hang at Eight And Sand Gallery's All Hallows show opening this Saturday in Seattle! This original piece will be for sale there, priced at $2200, framed original acrylic on panel - if you are interested contact the curator Alex at eightandsand@gmail.com - let them know you are interested in Jasmine Becket-Griffith's original piece for All Hallows (and yes, she'll ship worldwide for those of you not in the Seattle area). This cutie has an octopus in a pumpkin, because I love them both!

**********

Yep, I said pastels - somebody asked me yesterday if I ever work in any other media than in acrylic paints, and actually yes - I've been doing some smaller study paintings in pastels! Here's one I'm getting close to being finished with, a 5x7 pastel painting on board, facial study. Since folks are curious about this sort of thing, I might post these from time to time!

Might even put them in frames & pop one or two up in my eBay store here soon, if you guys would like. Since my travelling schedule is so heavy this autumn I might be doing a lot more of these soon, as pastels travel better in (less spilling, messy) than traveling with all my paints, or trying to paint in the car or a hotel, etc. Other than practice/study pieces in pastels, the rest of my work (all the stuff you see online) is always acrylic painting, usually on board, wood or sometimes canvas. These are Caran d'Ache pastels on a masonite panel treated with marble & pumice dust.

Ed. Canvases.  Each starts at a penny a lot of my favourites - click HERE to see them all, they are up for auctions ending on Monday, September 15.

"Ossuary:  The Collector"

8"x10" Original Acrylics on Panel, $2400 SOLD, prints & canvasesHERE

The first painting in a series called "Ossuary" - I debuted & sold this piece for the Dragon*Con 2014 Art Show. Each painting in my Ossuary focuses on the beauty of bones. Traditionally, an ossuary is a storage place specifically for bones, and they make a definite appearance in "The Collector" - a tragically sad looking big eyed girl gathering together some ancient skulls. There is no doubt a story behind this one. The original piece sold at the show, but prints & canvases are available!

The original painting has sold, but we have prints (signed by me on the back) starting at $9.99 as well as Limited Edition Canvas Prints hand embellished & numbered by me for only $100 here at Strangeling.com

Or if you prefer eBay, the $9.99 8x10 signed glossy prints are HERE

and 8x10 Lt. Ed. Canvases are HERE

And of course prints are up at our Etsy store

"Faces of Faery #225"

6"x6" Original Acrylic CUSTOM Painting, $1600 SOLD, prints & canvases HERE

The 225th installment in my "Faces of Faery" series, this was a CUSTOM painting featuring this sassy angel fairy with a lovely red heart! Keep an eye out, I will be listing another "Custom Painting" opportunity on eBay soon (where the winning bidder gets to tell me how to finish the painting, they are a lot of fun!)

The original painting has sold (as a custom painting auction on eBay), but we have prints (signed by me on the back) starting at $9.99 as well as Limited Edition Canvas Prints hand embellished & numbered by me for only $75 HERE

Or if you prefer eBay, the $9.99 6x6 signed glossy prints are HERE

and 6x6 Hand Embellished Lt. Ed. Canvases are HERE

"Faces of Faery #226"

The 226th installment in my "Faces of Faery" series, this was a special piece for a wonderful lady who loves WOLVES! Keep an eye out, I will be listing another "Custom Painting" opportunity on eBay soon (where the winning bidder gets to tell me how to finish the painting, they are a lot of fun!)

The original painting has sold (as a custom painting ), but we have prints (signed by me on the back) starting at $9.99 as well as Limited Edition Canvas Prints hand embellished & numbered by me for only $75 HERE

Or if you prefer eBay, the $9.99 6x6 signed glossy prints are HERE

and 6x6 Hand Embellished Lt. Ed. Canvases are HERE

Do you love wolves too?  Check out all of my other Wolf themed artwork HERE

CANVAS SALE!

Dozens of Limited Edition Canvases are up for "penny auctions" on eBay this week HERE

And in other great news - it's the traditional Week-After-Labor-Day-Weekend Canvas Sale!  Since I'm always busy with Dragon*Con on the "real" Labor Day weekend, I follow up the following week with a whole bunch of "penny auctions" for select Lt. Ed. Canvases.  Each starts at a penny a lot of my favourites - click HERE to see them all, they are up for auctions ending on Monday, September 15.

A great opportunity to begin your collection, or to add to it with your favourites - at a potentially great bargain!  If you haven't ever purchased a Limited Edition Canvas print from me, I highly recommend them - they are truly the next best thing to owning one of my original paintings.  In fact, I hand embellish each one with my own acrylic paints & brush, adding small details, highlights, strands of hair, extra flowers, etc. so each one is unique and hand accented by me, the artist.  Each is also signed, dated, numbered (only 25 of each is ever made) and inscribed by hand on the back by me with authentification information.  They come "ready to hang" - wrapped on boards, glossily finished, archivally printed  with 100-200+ year inks.  Each one has a hanger on the back so you don't have to frame them - you can just hang them on a nail right on your wall as soon as you get it home!

Again - the sale ends on September 15 when all of the auctions end. Click HERE to see all of the penny auctions included in the sale!

Work-in-Progress

A special sneak preview of "Eve and Rib"....

Work-in-progress! I'm working on the sequel to my "Strangeling" book, again featuring short stories - piece I'm painting now is an illustration for Matthew David Becket's (my husband - check him out on Facebook HERE) short story (which will be published in the book, along again with stories by my sisters / co-authors Kachina Mickeletto & Amber Logan).

The book will be out 2015 and is published by Blue Angel.

This painting is called "Eve and Rib" - a clockwork fairy and her animated skeleton boyfriend in the forest - a lovely story indeed. The same characters appear in the book Matt recently finished (yet unpublished). This original painting is available for sale - if you are interested in purchasing it, email me at JasmineToad@aol.com with the subject line "Eve and Rib Original" - it is 12x16 acrylic on panel, will come in a spectacular ornate frame, and will be priced at $4400. Clockwork Dragonling, New Unseelie Court & more from Jasmine! http://eepurl.com/2xgen

New Stuff - big update today!

I am BACK from Dragon*Con!  Thank you ALL who came out to see us (all eighty thousand of you!).  Other than catching the flu on the last day (ugh), this was our BEST Dragon*Con yet. We'll be back next year!  Be sure to click here to find out about my other upcoming events this autumn.

All of the new original paintings I did for Dragon*Con have been sold, but we will be releasing them as prints, Limited Edition Canvases, etc. throughout the week.  Today I'll be showing you Clockwork Dragonling and Unseelie Court: War

Also a reminder - the Kansas City Renaissance Festival has opened for the season!  I will be there in person September 27 & 28, and October 4 & 5, and the rest of the time my sister Amber & her family will be running my gallery - loads of art & merchandise there (whether I'm there or not, hehe). Click HERE for details about the show!

One more thing - on a personal note, I wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to my husband Matty, for finishing up his first novel.  You can visit Matt on FacebookHERE (feel free to "friend" him or congratulate him.  He's always got interesting stuff to say!).  This coincides with my announcement that he'll also be contributing a short story or two for my upcoming sequel to my Strangeling art book (as well as my two sisters, of course!).  I'll actually be doing a couple of illustrations for the short story - stay tuned on my own Facebook this week for some sneak previews.

"Clockwork Dragonling"

12"x16" Original Acrylics on Panel, $4300 SOLD, prints & canvases HERE

A very special piece I debuted & sold this piece for the Dragon*Con 2014 Art Show - it was created for Dragon*Con's convention room key cards for the Hyatt Regency Atlanta (and also graced the back of the DragonCon pocket program books too!). I am so happy with how this one turned out - my little dragonling is clockwork - made of metal - and his fairy / angel companion has a definite steampunk flair with her aviator goggles and mechanical wings. Since it was a room key card design, I incorporated the "old" DragonCon logo into the shape of the key shown (and the "new" DragonCon logo was added up in the sky for the actual key card & promo materials - not shown).

The original painting has sold, but we have prints (signed by me on the back) starting at $9.99 as well as Limited Edition Canvas Prints hand embellished & numbered by me for only $125 here at Strangeling.com

Or if you prefer eBay, the $9.99 8x10 signed glossy prints are here & the $19.99 12x16 signed glossy prints are here

and Lt. Ed. Canvases are here Please note that Lt. Ed. Canvases are selling FAST on this one.

And of course prints are up at our Etsy store

"Unseelie Court:  War"

16"x20" Original Acrylics on Panel, $5200 SOLD, prints & canvases HERE

The second painting in a series I'm debuting called "The Unseelie Court" - specifically for the subset inspired by the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse - I debuted & sold this piece for the Dragon*Con 2014 Art Show. This particular painting in the series symbolizes "War". I tried to use a variety of imagery from the medieval times all the way up to contemporary or even futuristic war implements, trying to capture the timelessness and inevitability of war in general. The fabric of her camouflage dress fades into Gros' portrait of Napoleon & his troops on the viewer's right, and Goya's "Third of May" painting on your left. Lots of weapons, smoke, and violence in this one (at least compared to my more lighthearted works).

The dark raven and the white dove of peace weigh in on this human folly, the little banners they are carrying are written in Latin script and loosely translate to "War - What is it good for?" and "Absolutely Nothing" (from the Edwin Starr song, of course!).

The original painting has sold, but we have prints (signed by me on the back) starting at $9.99 as well as Limited Edition Canvas Prints hand embellished & numbered by me for only $125 here at Strangeling.com

Or if you prefer eBay, the $9.99 8x10 signed glossy prints are here & the $19.99 12x16 signed glossy prints are here

and Lt. Ed. Canvases are here ***Please note that Lt. Ed. Canvases are selling FAST on this one.  In fact, HALF of the canvases have sold already and they have just gone "live" today.  Be sure to get one asap if you have your heart set on her!

And of course prints are up at our Etsy store

We also have a special deal on a set of BOTH "Unseelie Court" prints together!  You can get the set of both 8x10 prints (each is signed on the back by me) together for only $20HERE and the set of both 12x16 prints (also signed on the back by me) together for only $40HERE
