Good evening from Israel,
Today, Green day in Amirim school, we completed ecological artistic project with the kids. Four mothers, Talia, Limor, Dorit and myself were responsible to design the ball with 3rd classes of school . Subject of the project : "The ball is in our hands " - "Shomrim Aal Hakadur " - Saving the ball During the last month the kids at school were learning about the ecological damage to Earth. At the same time, each age group, got a project to make with the parents , about the damages cause by : Plastic, Nylon, Batteries, Air pollution & Cutting trees etc. SO.. Our project was about the ecological damage of batteries. For general information... Batteries contain metals, such as :nickel , cadmium, lithium, copper etc.. While the batteries are thrown to garbage, the wrapping layer is being dismantled, by the contact with all kind of juices..... Eventually particle of the metals reaches and penetrate the ground , and finally it reaches underground water and actually pollute WATER.
The Ball is papier-mache' + adding batteries . Painted with Gouache. All the kids of 3rd grade were involved in this project. ( 15 minutes each :-)
As you can see at the slide show below , photos were taken today, another sunny day of Israeli Winter....... I hope that for next year, Green day, school will arrange sheds from the sun, for the workshops. ( I did ask :-)... Perhaps next year other parents will volunteer :-).. it's a good idea! Thanks for reading & viewing me. Happy Valentine's to ALL of you, WITH MY LOVE... Nira.
