I am a budding artist from Ohio. I have loved art my whole life. As soon as I could hold a pencil, I began to draw and over the years it has become an extremely important part of my life. Art gives me the chance to speak my mind and show the world my thoughts and feelings. Unfortunately, already in my life, I have encountered those who have been put-off by some of the darker pieces I have done. As far back as high-school, I had a group of teachers and parents loby to remove my work from an art show because it was too "morbid and violent". What can I say? I create what I see in my mind and have no appologies for anything I have produced. The way I see it, if I offend someone, at least I know they payed attention to my piece, even if they misinterpretted the meaning a bit. I am a strong believer in the freedom of art, so to all you who have encountered opposition out there - keep it up!
