Hello, and welcome to my blog here at artwanted.com. First of all, it's wonderful having a site like this to display artwork of all kinds, and knowing that every piece can be shared with you.
Perhaps with each new entry you can get a better understanding of my thoughts, inspirations, silliness, goals, and projects, and I might even throw in some views on art, society, people, and alot more.
I don't take myself seriously. Others shouldn't take themselves so seriously either. Humility is not evident enough in society today. We all need balance in our lives. Balance in our perspectives, in how we see ourselves, and how we see others. Have confidence but also be humble. Laugh at all kinds of things including yourself. I could go on and on, and perhaps, I will ramble on and on in some other blog :) yes, I know, you must be drooling with anticipation.
Anyways, I've been drawing and painting since I was 5. Growing up I really liked drawing comic book heroes like Superman, or TV characters, and also cartoon characters like He-Man and Transformers.
During college at CSU, Long Beach, I embraced more fully who an artist is and what an artist can do for his/herself and for society. I had given up my dreams of being a professional baseball player despite having the God-given talent to become one. I used to throw baseballs at least 320 feet without a bounce, sometimes on a football field endzone to endzone or other times, from home plate over a 30 foot high fence in left field just to see if i could do it. I could hit the ball hard, throw hard, and run fast. I was a pitcher and outfielder who struck out batters, made diving catches, stole bases at will, and I picked off runners at second base two different times. I have also enjoyed playing basketball, and was just as good at that, too, growing up. But if the Lord sees something better for you, He makes a way for that instead. And sometimes you don't have much of a choice, so I decided to persue my talent in drawing, painting and graphic and web design. It was an easy call though. I always loved drawing. I also enjoyed writing, and during college, I also had a couple creative writing classes.
I could definitely be more goal-oriented because I can be quite laid back. One of things I'd like to do is for once, create more artwork. It's been a long time since I've taken the time to create new drawings and paintings, but I miss it and look forward to sharing them with you.
With sincerity and friendship, Dann
