"Realism is my natural artistic language; Portraiture is my passion. I must be true to myself. A successful portrait is not about how close it looks like a photo or simply how realistic it looks. A good portrait is about how well it portrays the person, how well it conveys feelings and atmosphere. It captures the soul of an individual, it is unique and touching. My ultimate goal is to combine my techniques with my emotions and concepts to communicate with the viewers. I aim to capture my subjects essence and emotions (not just the likeness) on a piece of paper, presenting my feelings of this person to the world. My work represents a celebration of the subject's existence, my idea and my experience of this world. I see what others fail to see, cameras fail to capture and interpret them in my drawings. Therefore, this would be a process of creation, not a reproduction of a photographic image. Photorealism itself does not interest me in the least, what I'm interested in is REALISM!"
