(c)2008 Armando Salas ---- -"CREADORES" - Collective exhibition (34 artists) at Porta Nova Art Gallery (Ferrol) coordinated by Rafael Nadales (sculptor/painter) and José Manuel Nogueira (painter). From May 2 to 31.----- The opening was on May 2 and I was there because I promised to Alberto D'Assumpção to take few shots. I met a lot of people there. Nogueira, one of the coordinators, asked for record the presentation and speeches, and no choice... he put a tiny handycam in my hand:-) Then, I was talking with sculptor/painter Rafael Nadales (coordinator as well) and asked him to pose beside Alberto's painting. An unknown and very serious guy took the photo: my face is blurred and almost haven't feet :-) But the target was to "frame" Alberto's masterpiece with our bodies and we did it :-). Later, I met Carlos Barcón (journalist, painter and critic) and I told him: "Look at this painting, Carlos; Alberto D'Assumpção is a Portuguese artist friend of mine". Carlos looked at the painting, then looked around and said: " Hmmm... possibly the best painting of the entire exhibition... Yes". Then, he took one catalogue and marked Alberto's name and I felt myself very proud of Alberto and our friendship. By the way I must say, to totally enjoy Alberto's art you must look at it in real life: the brilliant colors, the amazing technique, all... pleasure for "gourmets" :-) I must confess, I NEEDED to TOUCH the painting (don't worry, Alberto, it was almost a caress :-))) ---- A lot of people, press, Tv... Total success! I'm glad and very proud, Alberto!.----------Upper image: myself (handycam in my hand:-) and Rafael Nadales while "framing" Alberto's masterpiece.---Bottom image: Catalogue: 34 artists; and our Alberto, the best one!.------------------If you, fortuitous visitor, still don't know Alberto, you're spending your life! :-))) Please take a tour and enjoy his amazing ART!!!: http://www.artwanted.com/artist.cfm?artid=14906 ---------------------------------------- More photos at Anneke Hut's thread: http://www.artwanted.com/mb/post.cfm?Topic=457709
