Self Portrait

I started off in 1994, having graduated from Nikoladze Art School (Tbilisi, Georgia). In 1995-1998 I created my first surrealistic portfolios, called Body Language, Black Coffee and Paranoia, representing the three different directions in my artwork. Body Language contains the works which might be classified as erotic symbolism, while Paranoia collates more Dali-influenced artwork, with polymorphous imagery and visual insinuations. As to the Black Coffee series, inspired by the actual images from coffee grounds and based on earlier black-and-white sketches, this portfolio significantly differs from the other two, combining the spirit of classical surrealism with distinctive composition resembling dried grounds in a coffee cup.

This same period, inspired by some fantasy literature and artwork, I tried my skills in fantasy art genre, but soon decided to continue with my mainstream, returning to fantasy art only occasionally.

NOTE: Most of my artwork cannot be published at ArtWanted.com due to image content restrictions. To see what you're missing, please visit my website at www.rezo.ge.
