Born 1947 in Luebeck, Northern Germany, I am a stage designer who has taken to drawing in my retirement.I was trained at the Academy of Art in Hamburg, but for about 20 years I travelled in the USA, South America and Asia. As you might see from my work, I consider myself a realistic painter, but not "photo-realistic". I feel I am drawing light rather than objects, and that is basically an impressionistic approach. It will take me about four weeks to complete a drawing, because of the many details that I feel to be important for my particular view of the scenes.
