Artist Bio

Adam Sulieman Williamson was born in 1982. His motivation is to continue nature into the functional. Working to commission as a sculptor/carver, illuminator and lettering artist, Adam exhibits regularly and continues to work on the 'Rumi stone and wood series', a progression of unique pieces which can be found in Bahrain, Australia and Magdalane College, Oxford University. He recently installed a large memorial carving of HM The Queen Mother commissioned by HRH Prince of Wales and is currently editing a documentary, filmed in Malaysia, where he was investigating the benefits of traditional arts in South East Asia, their diminishing role and the results of similar disappearances reflected around the world. Adam is currently teacher and Artist in Residence at the Prince's Foundation in London. He has worked and studied under numerous masters around the globe, from painting in a monastery on Mount Athos, Greece, to woodcarving in Asia, stonecarving in Wales, geometry in France and Spain and traditional craft research in Morocco and Turkey.
