Visit my website @ www.terrygilecki.com ---------------------- "Under Tropic Skies" 18 x 36 in. on canvas-------- This painting was very much inspired by one of my Favorite artists, M.C. Escher. Most particularly, M.C.Esher's mind and eye opening painting entitled "Three Worlds". His paintings of koi are few but his concept and incredible skill of capturing and merging the world below, on and above the surface of the water, had presented such an expansive source of creative possibilities to me, that I decided I would try and capture the effect and perhaps explore and expand on the concept further, hopefully painting several renditions of my own. I would not have believed it would kick start the extensive series I have devoted so much of my career, painting an ongoing series of the beautiful Koi in the surreal and visually magical world they live in.
