2006 - Collaboration was a creation between myself and fellow artist Carol Bennett. Carol's background is realism and oils, so she was interested in trying an abstract. I began coaching her through the process and let her begin painting with colors and movement she was comfortable with. After a short time she stopped and refused to go further. It was just not clear to her what to do next... a common occurence for artists that are not familiar with abstract. In abstract the artist must be confident and trusting in his/her intuition. There is no clear direction. It is definitely a journey. Though, I paint both abstract and realism, I prefer abstract for it's freedom and unpredictability. The collaboration was a result of my completing the painting.
