Old Battle Creek ski jump in Maplewood/St. Paul. For the Winter Carnival series 1996. Long gone since. Relief, with wood, wire, clay, acrylic and whatever else. 4' by 2'.

I remember that ski jump when I was a kid living in Maplewood. It always looked so big until I came back to MN and saw it, I didn't realize I had lived so close to it when we lived in Woodbury...This is Steph Schrader

Artist Reply: Actually this is the Ski Jump located at the "old" Battle Creek park that was closed up in the late 70's due to too many parties and deaths at the park. The park re open in the 90's and the jump was dismantled. The new location of the jump (rumor) is located in upper Mn. or Michigen. Thanks for taking the time to look at the portfollio Steph!

richard, i've enjoyed your artwork and will continue to let you cut my hair. i'm thinking about a sculpture of a pic i have of myself on stage...i'd like to see some of those sculps to get a better idea of how i'd look as "one" great job on the ski jump of battle creek, i was up on that ski jump back in the sixties. again thanks for the tour of your gallery, i enjoyed it very much...peace to you and yours, steven lachapelle
