Rainier View Trail @ Corral Pass

Our hike last weekend took us on a VERY rough, narrow logging road, 6 miles straight up a mountain, to the Corral Pass Campground. A couple of trails originate from here, but they still don't maintain the road. Our favorite hike from here is only 1.3 miles, but the views from the ridge are SO spectacular!! I never get tired of this landscape!! 2nd shot...We have name this "Old Indian Head Rock". He has watched over this valley for ions.... This was a major trail for tribes from each side of the mountains to travel back and forth. Later it was the major route for the settlers who traveled from the east to settle the Puget Sound area...Seattle/Tacoma/Olympia
