Side Effects of the War

Well into the third month of his venture above the Arctic Circle, and subsisting mainly on albino tundra millipedes, Hogarth was witness to a particularly violent side-effect of the ongoing skirmishes betwixt the Homeland and the moon colonists, who a few years before had declared themselves monarchially independent of Her Majesty's Capacious Survey. Following the awful din and the choking inferno of rocket fuel, our adventurer did investigate in the hope of surviving Nurayan cosmonauts, but everyone seemed to have perished or ejected during the crash from the upper atmosphere. His journals recall encountering a survivor later on in the week, a few miles away. Walnut and white inks, attributed to Bettony Justine nee Merricule.
