I loved painting this picture, which was a commissioned piece. My sister and I owned a dog just like this one and he came back from Australia with us when we were little girls. He was extremely talented in that he could catch tossed rocks with his teeth and he always loved chasing butterflies. He was a real character and a much-loved childhood friend. Sending this painting to its new owner was a bittersweet experience.
