STAR FLOWER FOR SISTER

STAR FLOWER FOR SISTER paintograph and photography by MICHAEL (MIGUEL) FORBUS A DEVOTIONAL FLOWER TO MY SISTER FOR ALL SHE HAS DONE IN TAKING CARE OF THE FAMILY FOR HER WHOLE LIFE AND SACRIFICING MIGHTILY HER OWN COMFORTS. A SINCERE THANKS FROM HER BROTHER. MY SISTER, WHO IS A BRILLIANT ARTIST, RE-INSPIRED ME TO CREATE AGAIN, AFTER YEARS OF BEING DORMANT AND CHASING THE COIN, SHE SHOWED ME THAT IT IS ALL RIGHT TO TRUST IN GOD FOR YOUR NEEDS IF YOU ARE CREATING BEAUTY FOR THE EYE AND SOUL. SHE PROVED TO ME THAT THERE IS ALWAYS A MYSTERIOUS PROSPERITY THAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GIVE OF YOURSELF AND IT IS FOR THE GIVING NOT FOR THE TAKING AS SHE HAS DONE THROUGHOUT HER LIFE. HER WORK IS HEARTFELT, BRILLIANT AND NOT EASY TO ACCOMPLISH, AND IT ALWAYS COMES OUT STUNNING AND THOSE THAT WITNESS HER WORK ETHIC AND HER BRILLIANT WORKS, HAVE ALWAYS COMMENTED ON IT'S MAGNIFICENCE. SHE HAS MANY COLLECTORS AND HER ART IS ALWAYS FUN TO LOOK AT, DEVOTIONAL IN MANY CASES AND ALWAYS HAS A PIECE OF HER VERY SOUL IN EVERY PIECE, SO WHEN YOU TAKE IT TO IT'S RESTING PLACE AS A COLLECTOR OF HER WORK, YOU ALSO HAVE TAKEN SOME OF THE GLORIOUS SOUL OF HER TO YOUR HOME WITH YOU AND YOU MAY NOT ALWAYS BE AWARE OF IT'S PRESENCE, BUT THAT BIT OF SOUL IS ALWAYS AWARE OF YOU. QUOTE BY HER BROTHER, MICHAEL (MIGUEL) FORBUS

I am not sure if we have lost peploe since the start or if peploe are quietly carrying on. Either way, I am curious about those other than the few who are still commenting. At the risk of presuming too much, I think there are two reasons why peploe might not be appearing here, both of which are forms of shame. One is that you have not kept up with the book and feel bad about that, so you are not discussing it. That is a real loss because sharing that experience could be helpful for everyone. That seems to me to be precisely why doing this as part of a collective is a good thing. The other is the feeling that this is silly, a waste of time, not for me , which to me is exactly what most of us are told implicitly or explicitly about creativity growing up, so not surprising to hear those voices here.I am sure there are other reasons, but my guess is these two are driving, even where the reason is that someone has just dropped out. Maybe part of my curiosity is because after a couple weeks of being a bit annoyed with working through the book, I am finding more clarity and more comfort with the process as we move into the homestretch.By the way, my apologies if I am taking up too much comment space, but this is the audience I was hoping to share my experience with, not the peploe I blog to, so I would rather comment directly here.Regardless of whether you comment or not, I hope things are going well for you.

Great use of colors!

very beautiful Michael

Artist Reply: Karen, your words are so kind and encouraging as your work is bold and magnificent. You are such a talent and your work is remarkably important to the Originals. I must tell you that your narratives and your work is very crucial for the memories of the Tribal stories. You have become the storyteller, the historian and this is as important as the shaman. My gratitude for your comments and kindness but your work has so much impact. Michael

A woman easy to love. I am not so easy to love as I have always kept a sort of distance that I am curing myself of. So in your blessings to some, please allow me a bit too. I could use it. Lovely colors & very artistic. Your a very sweet brother who thinks of his sister so kindly. She sounds divine as you are also! xoxox

Artist Reply: Gerrie, she is the kind one and so artistic. It was her influence to get me back to the place of creativity I started years ago and quit the tactile arts for writing and being a chef. Her influence and brilliant work and success that she has striven for and finally achieved has made me proud to witness and proud of her as well. She is a true artist, flesh and blood. My most grateful thanks to you for your sweet and gracious words. I sincerely appreciate them. My sincere thanks and have a most love week. Michael

Michael the monotoned image almost moves and has a haunting quality about it. We should all have a brother like you. Your words for your sister are so moving. Where can we see her work?

Artist Reply: Jeanie, you are so very kind. I really appreciate your great and kind words. She is worth loving so much. She is in the middle of doing two art shows and redecorating two houses, hers and my Mom's so she is working herself hard. But she loves the work ethic. I will email her website to you, I think she has a new one. Thanks so much Jeanie, I always appreciate your kind and gracious comments. You are such a very kind woman. Michael
