If I had to sleep much, which is never, I would never get anything done. I am so grateful for your friendship and communication and support and poetic words that you are truly an inspiration to me. Your presence is always in the work that I do. I always wonder what you will think of this or that as I work on a piece. It is as if you are an apparition watching me work or keeping me company in the late hours. I really appreciate our e-friendship and wish it would be in a closer proximity. Artist Reply: Katerina, what a sweet thing to say. It is a bit curious because I do not look like I work on the subjects I love most. Most orchid lovers are studious and quiet and I am a sturdy man, and outdoorsy type and love what taxes my body although I do take care of it. Not the sign of a true orchid addict. But I cannot break the spell for too long and then I just get back into the thousands of raw photos I have of them. This is beautiful, Michael. I really like your work. I have never heard the term paintography.

Artist Reply: Minnie, thank you so much for you kind comments and support. I think I made the word up and the technique unless someone else call their technique the same. It is a method of painting photographs in a graphic design program with a Wacom Intous 3 tablet. Sounds hard but once you get it down it is like to graphic art with a brush instead of a mouse.
