This flower reminds me of a Phlox or Fireweed, but the foliage isn't right....maybe a early spring cousin. Anyway, it isn't in my flower book. They are about a foot tall and sprinkled along the forest floor where the sun comes thru. Along with other forest floor flowers, this purple beauty has to get the sun before the canopy of diciduous trees fills in and takes that sun for themselves. Also, many other forest floor plants such as ferns and the salmon berry bush grow taller and cover these beauties who will wait again to be one of the first to announce the coming of spring. Hope you enjoy the color....:)
