TOM WAITS WATERCOLOR

TOM WAITS WATERCOLOR digital painting by Michael Forbus MY LITTLE BIRD With my little terrestrial bird, my rustic earthen jug, I break out singing the guitar's rain: alleged autumn arrives like a load of firewood, decanting the aroma that flew through the mountains, and grape by grape my kisses were joined to her bunch. This proves that the afternoon accumulated sweetness like the amber process or the order of violets. Come flying, passanger, let's fly with the coals, live or cold, with the disorderly darkness of the obscure and the ardent. Let's enter the ash, let's move with the smoke, let's live by the fire. In mid autumn we'll set the table over the grassy hillside, flying over Chillan with your guitar in your wings. AUTHOR PABLO NERUDA

Extraordinary integration of color and texture to reflect the dimension of this amazing musician. We not only share the love of the same poets, but also of the legendary rock music poets of our generation. Pairing this stunning painting with Pablo Neruda' s poetry is brilliant and so fitting as a testament to the legendary. I can imagine him flying over a grassy Chilian hillside with his guitar and you would be right beside him!!

Artist Reply: Thanks so much Julie, he is one of my favorites for years. I love that his wife co=writes with him and his son plays on his albums and his full band. Judging from his lyrics, you would think that his life be one like Bukowski, a poet extroidinaire but filled with demons that must be quieted with drugs and drink. Much to my surprise he is now a family man, with traditional values and such a sharp wit. Great poet of our times and a man who chronicals the modern street scene. Again thanks for writing. Michael
