Lunch at Dewey Lake

There are two Dewey Lakes and we always lunch at the larger one. Although the other one is much smaller it's just as pretty. This lake is located just outside the Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park boundries, so horses and dogs are allowed on the trails. This lake is almost as large as Mowich Lake and a welcome camp area for those traveling the Pacific Crest Trail. The PCT travels from Mexico to Canada...I don't know the exact mileage but it's a very long trail. We met a young couple a few weeks ago that left Mexico in late April and were on their way thru our state to Canada. Unbelievable...made us feel like we were just walking around the block. They were enjoying our scenery very much...a drastic change from the 700 miles of desert they had gone thru a couple of months back. Thanks for visiting...tomorrow, the Mountain, and the rest of the hike!! :)

Beautiful, Mary. These two look a bit like Colorado. We had a foot of snow last night. Good bye to days like these photos!!
