We like to sit on the end of this rock and have lunch when we are here. This large column came from the cliffs above and is only one of many that are seen on the lake floor thru the crystal clear water...can you see others? These trees are my favorite, they have chosen a difficult place to live, clinging to the column of rock.

Artist Reply: Hi Gary, Since you are in Cal.?, I'm in Washington. This place is SE of Seattle, White River Entrance to Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park. This takes you to Sunrise Visitor's Center, but...before you reach it, there is a switch-back in the road, with lots of parking. The trailhead is here to 8 alpine lakes, depending on how far you want to go. This photo was taken at Hidden Lake....very cool place!! :)
